You've been asked by a local insurance company to help it manage its large piles of paperwork. The manager with whom you interface says she wants to keep the application simple. She explains that she wants to place bar codes on each document and scan them in as images. Using a wand to read it, she and her staff of five employees could use the bar code to help access the stored image corresponding to the hard copy document. She doesn't want each worker to have access to another worker's stored images after they have been archived. Stored documents flagged as having problems should be electronically brought to the manager's attention. The project was funded based on the manager's and boss's conviction, and they both estimated it should take only two weeks to develop. There are no written requirements documents, but the manager wants you to document the specifications for the system. |
